Love what you do and do what you love. Live a life that you design.
“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
– George Bernard
I believe we are all capable of living a life we love.
My name is Sara Abate Rez. I’m passionate about design and communication, so much so that I have a degree in it. I enjoy laughing so much that I wrote the book “Laugh a Little Longer“, and I’m the Branding + Communications Director at Ambience Design Group, where I am building the personal branding side of our business, as I evolve my own.
Every individual has a personal brand, whether they are aware of it or not. Your brand is how you show up in the world and what you are known for.
Personal branding changed my life, and I want to show you how it can change yours. But things weren’t always so rosy in the work/life department. A defining moment in my life came after working for eight years in the corporate world at various advertising and communications agencies for many big brands. While I enjoyed the projects and people, I struggled with overwork. My experience caused me to go on the journey of asking “how do I live a better life?” And then I became a new mom…
It was then that I drew a line in the sand and made a commitment to dedicate the rest of my life to finding the answer (you can read more about that on my blog, “The Work/Life balance project“).
Self-Actualization is the process of living the fullest expression of ourselves. When our lives become filled with direction and purpose. I am taking this a step further by believing that people can self-actualize through personal branding, and I am on the journey of discovering this to be true.
During this period of personal growth and development, I’ve been mentoring students and sharing my ideas with some publications.

“Offices will become less places for employees to work than highly branded experience centers for employees, clients [and] partners to immerse themselves in the brand and culture, and connect face to face. This will be critical to build trust, which is the core currency of business in the new economy.”

“One room at a time: your house doesn’t need to become a minimalist masterpiece overnight…it’s hard to simplify an entire house at once. Focus on one room, and let that be your center of calm. Use it to inspire you to simplify the next room.”

“Many of our clients are seeking moments where technology doesn’t get in the way of spending time together as a family. They want a barrier between all the electronic devices and themselves.”

“Urbanization has caused most of us to lose our connection to green spaces. This is especially true in the workplace…Bringing elements into the workplace that allow a nature connection can help us to mentally recover from day-to-day stresses and improve our well-being.”

“Employee wellness is crucial in today’s office design. Almost 90 percent of employees have admitted that workplace environment, or lack thereof, impacts their attitude about work. Incorporating natural elements has been proven to reduce stress, enhance cognitive function and expedite healing. This translates to less sick days and reduced turnover.”

“Step back from some of the projects that are really demanding a lot of your time and set boundaries around the type of work you are willing to do. Determine which projects you can delegate in order to avoid going back into that overwhelmed state. Realize that not all will fall apart without your involvement. Shifting some of the responsibilities will allow you to gain more space in your life, which will ultimately give you clarity to step back and function more effectively.”
